Can a Smart car diesel be title in NY state? It's from Canada.

My guess is no. The DMV could probably tell you based on the VIN. A loophole might be the homebuilt car registration. Do a bunch of ecomods and claim you built the whole thing!

Nice find... I think it should be alright. Diesel cars cannot be sold new in NY, but I see NY registered TDi's driving around every once and a while. If this is the case, I don't see why you couldn't do it - we've already got gasser smart cars.
