o2 sensor setting for economy

Hello everybody.

I have a Suzuki Baleno SOHC 16V G13BB 1.3L car. The factory setting for the O2 sensor at exhaust manifold is 0.8v. If i bring it down to 0.45v will it help fuel economy and is it safe for the engine. I don't want to ruin my engine. Or is there a way to do it.

Thanks.

The O2 sensor should fluctuate between 0.2V and 0.8V or something similar, when the engine is warmed up. How are you measuring it?

You can't "set" an O2 sensor for economy. They're an item that fluctuates in output by design.

It could be worn out, and when it reaches a certain voltage the engine finally gets the correct amount of fuel.

I'd get a new one, throw it in, and duplicate the measurement. Bet it's not possible.

Hi Aamir, Welcome to ecomodding! See if this or this helps (or doesn't)! Normally ecomodder search is very helpful, and so are the links at the bottom of the page.
