It would be a good improvement.
I found this topic:

Canadian version for kilometers

I'm considering to order the kit from the fundamentallogic, but it seems to be out of stock. And if I want to load the metric version, do I need some tools for that?

I ordered the mpguino from fundamental logic, despite being "out of stock" but I got it in a week, which is quick considering they posted it over the Atlantic.

I think they pack to order, so they don't have anything in stock, ever?

Don't know about the metric part, I've asked and never got an answer.

You can email Fundamental Logic and ask them about their stock level - no one here is affiliated with them, so we can't say for sure. When I ordered mine, it showed up as 'in stock' on their page, so as far as I know, they list their stock when they have it.

On a prebuilt MPGuino, dcb would have to load the metric version before shipping it out in order to have metric units. On the fundamtal logic board, you can load whichever version you like via USB and the Arduino software.

I might have enough room to make it a menu option on the prebuilt since getting rid of the bootloader. It is definately on my to-do list. Though I think I will keep the setup in english just so there aren't two setup tables per car.

Thumbs up MPguino in Metric units

A option menu to choose between English ad Metric units would be great.

However, I got my prebuilt MPGuino in English units, while I need it in metric units. It has no bootloader.

However, I think if I get the metric units version of the program, I should be able to load it somehow to the prebuilt I have. Wouldn´t I?

I think I need to connect the input pins of the MPguino to a bootloader and load the program.

avrfreaks.net is an excellent resource for learning how to program atmegas, I reprogram them all the time. But am not offering a course in atmega programming currently

scho - have you started a thread about your VX swap? Just curious what you're up to.
