Open Revolt 500A?

Hi, guys.

Someone told me that the Open Revolt controller (Cougar) is rated at 500A peak. The wiki page, however, states: "EV Series 500 & 1000 DC Motor Controller "Cougar" Features - Continuous current rating of 500 or 1000 Amps.
".

Is this person wrong? Or is there an error on the wiki page?

There is a 500A controller and also a 1000A controller. I'm not sure if the 1000A is fully designed and tested yet though.

But what I really want to know is if the 500A Cougar controller is rated for 500A continuous, or 500A max (peak).

I think whoever wrote that did a booboo. It can do 500 amps for I don't know how long, but not continuous.

The motor that I'm considering is rated at 450A max (for 5 minutes)... 190A continuous. To me, the Open Revolt controller should work out well. Would you agree with this reasoning?

Ya, that would be good. I think Joe down in Phoenix uses around 180 amps continuous in 45 degC weather without any heating issues. I don't know what the continuous amp rating is, but I believe it's higher than 180.
