Yeah, 8 hours every 24 I think. But I might be wrong about that.

this is correct, but the driver can be on duty/working up to 11 in 24 too.

I also once was passed by numerous18 wheelers in a southern US state while going 105mph. I knew the car sounded funny and slowed when I realized how fast I was going.
