Hey, am I mistaken, or did you spend a lot less on repairs/maintenance this year?

I believe that maintenance was less this year (because of the initial winter tire purchase and the new battery the previous year), but repair costs were right up there. The $280 oil leak, the $150 steering repair, the $44 exhaust fix, and the $312 for four new wheel bearings were all this year.

Oh well, it sure beats spending $420 a month on a lease payment for an SUV the driver doesn't even own.

Peakster your mileage really jumped this year. Is that because of the ballon chasing?

No, the balloon chasing was with a company-owned Ford F150 crew cab. The fact of the matter is that I bought the Geo in August 2006, so I only had the car for 4.5 months that year, unlike 2007 which was a full 12 months.
