Talking Personal best w/ city and h/w mix - 39.8 MPG

Right now i could leap for joy and do cartwheels (that's if i knew how to do a cartwheel, lol). I just filled my tank and got a personal best ever, 39.8 MPG with a even mix of stop-and-go and highway driving . This week hasn't even been all that great for f/e either...some rain, wind, and colder temps. My best before today with a mix of city and h/w used to be 37.8 MPG. I usually have only gotten higher than 38 MPG before when it's most h/w driving.

Achieving this today is all because of this site. I recently installed a lower grill-block and a vacuum gauge. I have slowed down on the highways and i accelerate slower, watching the vacuum gauge. I also have been turning off my engine when i come to a light that just turned red.

Thank you guys for all the knowledge and thanks for this site .

Oooh...that's a nice tank...congrats! Good the see you have the Corolla prepped for winter too with the grille block and EBH.

I find it to be pretty exciting this time of year when you prep for the winter and save every bit of mpg you can until the weather warms up again. All that work in the winter really pays off in the warmer months when you see the big mpg gains thanks to all your efforts in the colder months (both mods and driving skills)!

Yes it is. I'm wondering now what kinda f/e i would get driving most or even all highway miles.
