I prefer blondes, myself, with huge.... umm... storage vessels, yea, that's it, storage vessels!

and speaking of storage, how 'bout them batteries for crying-out loud?

No offence intended to anyone in particular, but do you guys come here for the sport of arguing? To hone your debating skills? I've seen more and more threads break down into who can out debate whom <including this one>.

OK, I feel better now, back to it guys... DING!

No, we're not! You couldn't be more wrong! And here's why you're wrong...

metromizer: you're not alone. I've definitely noticed a lot more unproductive chip-on-the-shoulder "debating" lately.

I don't think we're arguing about "better" here (at least I'm not), but about what particular set of qualities makes one car similar enough to another that someone can use a comparison between them to say a hybrid power train isn't worth the extra expense.

Just for an extreme example, I've sometimes argued that the best comparison to the Insight is a 911 Porsche. They're about the same size & shape, 2-seaters with MT, handle pretty well through curves, etc. The Porsche goes a bit faster (but I have gotten enough speeding tickets in my time), the Insight gets much better mpg. Otherwise, it seems like the main difference is the price: $20K vs IIRC upwards of $60K. So can we talk about that supposed "hybrid premium" again?

Same reasoning works with the Prius: you can find cars that match well in all the qualities that matter to me, but which cost more than twice as much.

Ok I can see that. . . .It's just difficult. I like the sports car field(doesn't necessarily have to go fast just looking it is enough). If you were going to buy a 20Kish sedan(or anything bigger than two seats) I guess the Prius is not bad. I don't much care for the accord, no offense to anyone who owns or drives them. Just not my car. Kinda the same for the Prius. Honda snagged me hook line and sinker, so if you are trying to market anything on me that Honda has a version of good luck lol. They aren't perfect or indestructible. I just like them ^_^.
