Lunarhighway, NICE WORK!

My request: Please add about 30-50 cm to the end of the car. Bigger trunk space, bigger crumple zone, smaller wake if you continue the boattailing. Then send the photos to the morons controlling the VOLT aero design and Bob Lutz.
"we used this unique ridge at the back of the car to save a couple points of drag."
Yeah, good for you. You spent a lot of money to make a near replica of an acura.
Lunarhighway made a better-looking model with 15% higher FE in one hour. Blam!

Oh, and I spotted K.I.T.T.'s rims before you said it. Just watched an episode off my DVD last night!!

looks like GM has been modding the volt as well... although with a little less imagination... over here they'll sell it as the opel ampera (kind of a silly name if you ask me)

seems like a volt with an opel front attached to it... bit of a missed chance i think but i think the important thing is ev's get out there now... if the technology gets rolling we can work on the looks later

Great work MetroMPG!

It's always fun to see mods for the Volt. Your treatments extend the obvious future personalization of the new marque. I always thought it was a (unfortunate terminal patient) Saturn shoe-in. Also ironically the (another dying brand) Pontiac bowling balls were a great fit for your concept.

My fun contribution is a larger version midsize sedan with extended Gran Torino-esque rear flanks. The large grille front has only the vestigial details (can they work as beneficial vortex generators?) The lower grill opening has adjustable vanes for blocking/cooling or active aero control.

The aftermarket better start sharpening their (digital) pencils for more tested aero-centric parts for all the new concepts/production models (if they want to survive) coming down the pike.

botsapper, you did a fabulous job of making that boring looking car into something that is actually sexy.

Props on the grille indentions. It retains the character, yet is functional.

If I had a Volt, it would look just as you have shown.

Well done !

Sorry to dig up graves but I found this funny. I'm sure I read this back then since I've been lurking here forever. Now I'm ecomodding a Volt. Dreams do come true
