Does your GTO have the LS7? The C6 Corvette has the same motor and I've driven it and get around 40 mpg (according to the HUD) at 50 mph. I noticed it also doesent have to pay a gas tax, but the GTO does. I guess shorter gears?

His GTO should have the LS1 5.7 If memory serves.

2 friends of mine had / have them in F-bodies and they will do low 30's cruising on the interstate (70~75 mph) Very nice power plant.
