Wink So it begins with my 2012 Scion iQ...

The world's first Toyota/Scion iQ with a single wheel trailer! Took awhile to build out my tow vehicle adapters so I could attach the single wheel trailer to it. I still have lots of work to do before I can be happy with it.

The genuine "Buy-a-trailer-instead-of-a-pickup-truck" story.

Interesting. What about the payload of the trailer?

Bam, it's the ideal aero project car.
'Shortest' car in the world with Cd 0.31! ( So good, Aston Martin put their name on it! ).
Robert Cumberford, of AUTOMOBILE Magazine got to Cd 0.16 by boat-tailing his 1970s city car.
Just wait until the local paparazzi get a gander at you.

I'm guessing a few hundred pounds? It's about 3'x4' inside the trailer.

I've learned a lot with Dark Aero so I'm going to apply it to this one. I wonder if I should call it Light Aero? I've replaced the plywood deck with an aluminum sheet to make it lighter and more durable. The fiberglass body can be removed by pulling the 4 bolts that hold it to the frame. I'm thinking of making a shopping cart body to slap on there now and then.

I'd hoped you learned the lesson about wood in the underbody.

What are the dimensions of the quadrilateral -- aft body width, aft trailer width and the distance between the two?

Will the combo have a full length diffuser with a flexible section at the hinge line? To absorb half the suspension travel?

Wood was a good low cost material fer learning with but now with the current pricing, I'm looking at other materials. EMT conduit with Maker Pipe connectors would be a good start. It should be easy to make a shopping cart frame using the connectors and EMT.
https://makerpipe.com/

I'm also considering including a mix of slotted angle as well.

I'm not sure about the underside at the moment but it will be considered in the near future.

The trailer frame is about 3' wide by 4.5' long. The space between the end of the vehicle and the front of the trailer is about 18" and from the end of the vehicle to the landing gear arms is about 13". The fiberglass body will be used sparingly as I work on building a modular body system that can be removed/replaced as needed depending on the task at hand.

Hoops and inflatable pillowes.

This is a tricycle, but you get the idea? The forward section coould be adhered to the hatch opening.
