Dacia Lodgy ride

Hi folks,

Last week I had a Dacia Lodgy to drive.

I drove around 200 miles over 4 days, with some traffic congestion, hooligan driving here and there (the nut behind the wheel gets loose frome time to time) I used it the city or highway (up to 83 mph), the vehicle is tall and aerodynamics is probably poor, and still it returned 45 mpg.

I have been well impressed, especially when I took my old car afterwards, feels very much heavy, is more streamlined and I am babying it a lot and yet it is an achievement to exceed 45 mpg with it.

Actually, my youngest son (2 1/2 y/o) doesn't want to climb in my car anymore and asks for the other one !

The engine in the Dacia is Renault's finest : the 1.5 DCi in 90hp form : very nice accelerations, no lag what so ever / very responsive and smooth and still this bloody good FE ...

No wonder they managed to sell it to Mercedes Benz too ...

Sold here as a Logan MCV

Yep, wish I had bought one.

EDIT - maybe not the same car, but excellent MPG from them all, makes a Mirage seem like meh...

I noticed this on the road one day and had a second look - that rear end has some nice Kamming!

I has some potential for aeromodding, but if you have to get a new car, see if you get a lower roofline - Cd is easier to edit than frontal area (unless you are Vekke ).

New Logan MCV is indeed a better horse for FE

You can even get the 900 cm3 gas engine if you don't want to go diesel for various reasons like I do.

Back-to-basics no-nonsense motoring .

Those Dacia's are high on the German ADAC list of most reliable cars - basically because there's little to break in the first place

Whn I was looking for a new car, I've been pondering about the Lodgy too.
But it's way too large for my daily needs, and still burns diesel or petrol.

To be fair, I didn't like the handling under pouring rain.
But that can be due to the tires. Continental eco-contact don't have the best reputation ...
