I don't know for sure, but it looks like that cover actually covers down to the widest section of the tire's sidewall, meaning that would be a "normal" sized wheel, and part of the tire is covered. This is entirely possible, because at speed, the amount of air that could get behind the wheel cover wouldn't even be a breath to the average human. You'd want to keep your tires fully inflated, though, or risk damage to the (very expensive) covers.

Yeah, that would be fantastic because that solution would be "easy-off" and road worthy.

get an air hose pressed on. Maybe it needs to be that big to get your fingers
around the valve cap.

That's egg-zactly right. If you can't get a good hold on them, the valve caps can fall behind the wheel cover. On my cheesy wheel covers, my access hole is too small. To solve this problem I made a "magnetic" valve cap using a valve cap with a "nut shape", so it can be removed with a 3/8 socket. The socket is metal and the valve cap is magnetized, so it stays in the socket after I unscrew it.

It's too bad that there isn't more info readily available on these covers.
They have only appeared on a few cars.

I agree. I want to see INSTALLATION instructions. That would answer all of our questions.
