I'm sitting here w/ my butt in the chair. I feel the acceleration of gravity pulling my body down. However, if I jumped off a cliff, I would be accelerating rapidly towards earth but my body wouldn't feel the forces. I would feel weightless. Same effect on the accelerometer going up the hill and decelerating I believe. :\
