I probably told you this once before, but polyester resin works on fleece, which is extremely cheap at Wal-mart or free if you go trash digging. People throw away those cheap fleece blankets all the time. It's non-structural, but will work nicely to make smooth shapes, and stretches evenly to form nice compound curves.

Also, white glue mixed 70/30 with clean water and white tee shirts. You can find tee-shirts for cheap/free at yard sales and donation centers like Salvation Army stores.
