I rode in a similar car in the mid 80's, in Ann Arbor, except that it had an arch from outrigger wheel to outrigger wheel.

They actually made a pretty good amount of them and the owners meet every year in Indiana. Reading how they closed down was pretty sad, but they had a good thing going there for a couple years with plenty of people (75) on a waiting list before they closed shop
