Purpose of these?

Where the rear window should be, do they have a name? Mini-staggered-spoilers? I've also seen these on some Hondas, do they help FE at all? Or are they just aesthetic?

Those are louvers, no aero benefit that I am aware of (possible aero penalty), thought they just helped keep a bit of sun out. It looks like your louvers have louvers

They keep the sun out while still letting you see straight back, without them I'm not sure if anything but the strongest A/C could keep a car cool with a back window that size.

All this time I thought they were to keep the flux capacitor from overloading.

Used to see alot of hatchback cars with louvers in the 80's but not so much lately.

I really think it might be serious aero design... if you believe some of the results/modelling in the thread link I posted above. The steps create low pressure that draws flow down "attached" along an otherwise somewhat steeper than ideal slope.

But I'm sure it also charged the flux capacitor, whenever garbage ran out, sorta like a trickle charger/maintainer.

You could mount a trickle-charger solar panel on each of those and provide a lot of charging power!
