Quick Question

Anyone able to tell me te difference between Engine Load vs Engine Load (Absolute).

Which should I be watching.

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about, but absolute engine load would be the percentage of power being used versus total power the engine can produce. Regular engine load would be % of power being used that the engine can generate at that specific rpm. Engine load is much more useful than absolute engine load.

I bet he's talking about the distinction between some of the aftermarket instrumentation like the scan or ultra gauge

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. I've never heard of any instrumentation that differentiates between the two though, it give you one of the two and thats it.

MAP=Manifold Absolute Pressure. It's the opposite of manifold vacuum or the atmospheric pressure that is allowed into the cylinders for compression.

If MAP and Vacuum are equal then you have 50% of the potential compression of the engine. Half of the available atmosphere can get into the cylinders past the throttle plate restriction.
