Thumbs up Quick and Simple ECO-Driving Guide

I found this neat PDF guide from Toyota. I think it would be a great tool for initiating family members and friends to eco-driving. It is an easy read and pretty straight forward. I thought about printing a few pamphlets and offering them to my fellow passengers !

Enjoy !

Nice. I like how they say how much fuel is used under each tip they give.

Thanks for sharing this nice thought with us...However, i would like to give a suggestion here, if you print a sticker of the same text and place it at the back of your car then this message will be forwarded to everyone like a wild fire and you will see a great change in the traffic around you.

Very nice, although it would be nice if they also made a US version. We silly 'mercans don't understand these fancy "metric" measurements.

Hmm. some tips are not valid for "hardcore-hypermilers"
* It says accelerate slowly, here consensus says accellerate briskly.
* Also pulse-and-glide (even engine-on pulse-and-coast-in-neutral) is more economical than steady speed cruise. But this tip is not for average Joe - it involves too much work. I enjoy it and I dont get bored and sleepy.

Gentle acceleration and constant steady cruise is a lot better than the general habit of always being completely on one of the pedals.

Baby steps.

47) "Drive without brakes" (DWB) Minimize use of the brake pedal. Each time you press it, you're effectively converting gasoline into brake dust and heat.
