Radiator fan - before or after?

I've noticed that in some cars the radiator fan is in front, right behind the grill, while in others it's behind the radiator, between it and the engine. I can see +'s and -'s of both placements, but am wondering if one really is better than the other?

If you get the choice put it up front.
Pressure works better than vac. When it comes to airflow over a radiator. I solved an overheating issue by switching from a rear mount 16" to a 12" front mount on my supra ( rear is no longer neaded)
