Rear Defroster/Replacing Geo Metro Hatch?

Hey everyone!

My 1996 Geo Metro does NOT have the built-in rear electric defroster.

My Metro has been converted to an Electric Vehicle (EV) so heat isn't going to be so good in it anyhow, but not being able to see out the back is a safety issue.

This is the first winter I will have had the car.

Can anyone recommend an aftermarket solution to needing a hatch defroster?

Is it reasonable to look at junkyards for a matching hatch that DOES have the electric defroster built in?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Ben N.

Ah, the old standby, J.C. Whitney.

Or, make a bracket to hold this baby in place and just plug it in when you need it:
