Redesigned air dam

Since I was waiting on funds for a new alternator, I had a chance to redesign my front air dam. Instead of sharp corners, it is now rounded.



I can never seem to get the side shots to be level..




And just for fun, a clearer picture of the complete undertray:

I'll see what happens, because there was actually a lot of work done recently. I converted it to manual steering, and in the process had to remove the AC compressor as well as the PS pump. Right now it's been doing a lot of short trips, but next week I'll be able to see how it does on longer trips on the highway. I'm almost thinking about omitting my last tank from the log, since it involved the PS pump siezing, and several short trips to and from the shop on battery, and it ended up being around 22 MPG.

One definitely noticeable improvement after the PS/AC delete is that when the engine is in it's cold cycle, all I need to do is bring it up to 30, let off the gas, and it'll shift into third gear and hold speed for quite a while. When it's warm, I can just do some light P&G around town.

Hang onto your data somewhere.There may come a time when someone needs to know that kinda stuff.It's crazy how nasty numbers can end up with great value.
Lots of work on your end,I hope the mpg gods smile on you when you get the road trip in.

I finally got around to doing a bit more work to it this afternoon. I trimmed the air dam in the middle and got it nearly flush with the front undertray to help get rid of some of the induced drag it's probably causing, and left it lower in front of the tires and suspension arms. I rounded out the edge with some Gorilla tape, so it should be a nearly seamless transition. If the pictures look the same, they just focus on different things.

Aeromodder, I am really curious to see what brought you to trim the center portion of your airdam like you did. How do you know it is inducing drag? The reason I ask is I recently installed some belly panels on my full size RAM, and my MPGs stunk for the entire trip. I can post some pics tomorrow if needed. A smooth transition is a must? Maybe that is part of my problem. I have about a 3/4" height gap between my splitter and the panels.
