Mine doesn't need tools, because there are no screws... they're held in by these clips built into the car. However, you do need a lot of patience and small hands unless you feel like taking other things out of the engine compartment to get to the lights. And I'd never be able to figure out how to put the other stuff back in, because I'd forget which screws/nuts/bolts went where.
