Road & Track Prius/Golf TDI/Fiesta comparison

Hi,

I just read this article in Road & Track today, I think many of you will be interested in it:

Hybrid: Reality - Article - Road and Track

Interesting stuff -- especially since they included the brand new Ford Fiesta.

Thanks - Interesting. Have Toyota worked harder on the freeway/motorway mileage in the latest Prius - it always seemed to be behind Diesels in the past. e.g. - Another comparison - Prius vs BMW 520d

Toyota Prius proves a gas guzzler in a race with the BMW 520d review | Used Car Reviews | Driving - Times Online

I thought initially the Fester seemed very thirsty then I realised its the 1.6.

Hmmm, disappointing mileage from the Fiesta IMO. I'm also surprised that the TDI didn't do better in the highway drives.

great read.

I was curious about prius..but at 75+ mph...
I am glad they posted average speed.

The 35mpg as a real average is not new by any means... there are many from the past, not exactly runted to be forced to stay on little roads and slow speed...not to mention much much simpler.
..but new and ripoff has to happen..
