Saber here, with a rolla

hellos...

it's a 1998 with 2002 front...

with a top grill block

20% improvement in highway mpg just with that

will probably do a lower grill partial block

Welcome to the site Saber. A lower grill block would be a nice addition. I'd recommend a scangauge to watch your coolant temps or at the very least installing an indicator light to see when your radiator fan comes on to see if you have too much grill blocked off.

Welcome!

For you 20% improvement with the grill block, how did you test this? Do you have the raw data for the tests? If so I would like to see added to the Wiki page for grill blocks: Grill block partial or full - EcoModder

raw data? my odometer at the end of a tank...

I used to top out @ 180~190 miles with 9 tanks of gas no matter I did city or highway...
and for a corolla this is disappointing mpg

this one after adding the top grill block I've done 230 by the time I get to the texaco..
I'll see how many gallons that end up being
but my gas gauge is still a bit under between 1/2 & 1/4...

was redoing the front grill block to something prettier and added a partial lower grill block to test that too.

biggest upgrade? I can still open the hood

I'm still under 5 posts, if not I'd show the picture of my rolla

thanks!

I'm just starting...
the more mpg I get the more motivated I get...
cause it's a good investment.

already thinking of plexiglassing my prototype
too bad I can't sell it afterwards cause my front is ill-fitting (too many people crashing into me grrr)

and btw, on the rollas, CAI with a catalytic converter delete is much better than any form of stock intake or the cai made a WAI...

the torque increase from the cai at low rpm is much better than overall leaner burning

Deleting the catalytic converter leads to more pollution, not less.

A bit less CO2 won't ever make up for the sh!tload of more harmful gases coming out of an unregulated exhaust.
