If someone is afraid of the Prius, nothing we post here is going to change their mind. But their fear doesn't matter since the Prius is production limited with no shortage of customers:
"The Prius mid-size gas-electric hybrid posted October sales of 13,496 units, up 10.3 percent over the year-ago month." (Toyota October 2009 sales report)
The USA has nine years of Prius experience and the accident data shows it is safer than ordinary cars. It is different and some folks won't ever be able to deal with it ... tough. For those who can, it has been and remains a great ride.

Not to mention '00-'06 Honda Insight, at about 1850 lbs :-)

Not to mention that it's an EV. And we don't have to worry about them exceeding the speed limit :-)

It's in my nature, honestly. I'm glad you're one of the people willing to risk yourself and your life to save others. It's a very thankless job, as I'm sure you know.

Eh, I got so used to house current, I don't even turn off the power when I change light sockets, switches, plugs, etc. It only smarts for a minute.

When I was something like 9 years old, I was feeding my neighbor's ducks, and they had a 220 entrance line to the barn that was weather checked and cracked. I stepped in a puddle, almost slipped, and grabbed hold of the line, which subsequently shocked the hell out of me. I had a burn in the middle of my hand for a good while, because it wasn't wet when I grabbed the line, but that was the extent of damage. Well, unless you count the *tw...itch...ing* once in awhile.

Now, that said, regarding location, I'd rather be shocked in my hands, arms, legs, feet, etc... than what this guy did:

snopes.com: Penile Burn from Electric Fence

*Obviously, it's on Snopes, which means it didn't go down like they say... still funny, though. Don't look if you're going to be immature about it, please.*
