Scan Gauge use in car shopping.
I bought a scan gauge a month or so back even tho it doesn't work with my 1993 civic vx but because I tend to barrow a truck from my parents when I need to haul large loads and get to drive a full size dodge truck at work, I fugred it would be worth it for it's use in other peoples vehicles, what really pushed me over the edge to buy it was having two people ask me in the same week if I could tell them why their check engine light was on!
Today I went along on a used car shopping trip, looked the car over, plugged the scan gauge in and went on down the road, it was really nice to be able to keep an eye on what was going on while doing a test drive, I of course waited till I was not the one driving to start checking sensors and of course I haven't owned it long enough to know every little trick about using it but it did look like everything was working correctly, it saved alot of time and peering over the drivers shoulder.
