ScanGauge is bad for MPGs

Ordered a SG last week. Friday I got an email at work from the wife saying that it had arrived. On the way home, I think I disregarded every one of the 100+ driving tips on The List.
I tried to control myself and pulled some P&G through the rolling countryside part of my commute, but then started thinking how much better it was gonna be with my NEW SCANGAUGE and started driving like an idiot again. You know, 3-5 mph over the speed limit, rolling up to stops at 30mph and using the brakes...

Maybe there should be a 'confessions' section in the Forum, so we can cleanse our souls when we go astray.

BTW
The ScanGauge is GREAT.
Hey, my car has DFCO! All right!

I have got mine waiting for me at less than one mile from here in the post-office and I will not be able to get it before Monday evening...
The postman just let a calling card without ringing at the door

+1
I know that feeling, when you are so much distracted by something that you drive mechanically, forgetting the B.A.BA of ecodriving...

Hey, my car has DFCO! All right!
I know my newer car has DFCO because it's iFE displays a beautiful 0.0 I want a SG2 to know when I'm in open loop or the turbo is active.

I hope SG2 will be compatible with my cars : European cars have to be OBD2 only since 2000 for gasoline and 2004 for diesel. I looked at the pins and they are ISO compatible. I found in misc lists on Internet that the ECU of the newer car (Bosch EDC15 on a 2001 diesel) is ISO compatible. I have no clue for the older (Lucas DCN on a 1997 diesel) and I found several sites saying that there is some OBD1.5 that are physically compatible with OBD2 but are using OBD1 with some additional OBD2 codes... Wait and see...

So here (waiting for having) the SG2 is driving me maAad
all that time lost between yesterday morning and tomorrow evening !!!

Denis.

I know the feeling. I got my mpguino functional yesterday and today Ive gotta go downstate. I was really hoping Id have it ready by now too. Since yesterday afternoon Ive been feeling like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting to try this thing on the 300 mile trip. Last time I got 38 mpg just by guessing. Lets hope this time will be better now Ill have some feedback.
