SGII backlight always on?

Just got and installed my first SGII, it seems the backlight stays on even when car is off?

I locked the car and went indoors yesterday, came back out 5-10 mins later to start taking the dash apart to route the cable and the blue backlight was still lit.

It seems like this will drain my battery!
I left it unplugged overnight and again today at work because i can't reliably get out to check it/test battery voltage.

I thought people left them plugged in?

ok i went out in the dark last night after i'd left it plugged in when getting home from work.

It was shining bright from the car. So i've unplugged it.
Need to sort this otherwise i've got to keep unplugging it :/

That's strange. Mine goes off after a few seconds when I turn off the car.

I'd suggest contacting the company:

Contact Us : Linear Logic - Home of the ScanGauge

Did you Google it? I seem to recall reading about this issue somewhere, many moons ago.

I will do some better googling now.

Linear Logic have in fact offered to repair it free, which is very nice of them, I may take them up on their offer but i'm in the UK, so shipping there and back may be pricey
