I think when cars have Stop/Start technology, they are also able to do regenerative braking using the alternator/starter to charge the battery when the brake pedal is used. It would have to be "integrated" into the brake pedal by the factory.

Hybrids only would make sense if all of them were plug-in, altough I still prefer Diesels
