speed on mpguino fluctuates

The speed on my mpguino flucuates, it will jump sometimes 10-30 mph. Is this normal for the mpguino?

It could be the known issue of the reed switch needing debouncing (in-progress). It could also be excessive noise on the vss line, i.e. signal line is too close to the spark plug leads. Shielding and/or twisting the signal lead with a ground lead might help also.
