Streamlining allows electric Geo Metro 200 miles range with lead acid batteries

Folks, Dave Cloud has done it again by building another record setter:

www(dot)evalbum(dot)com/3242 (The forum would not let me post it as a full url)

Tesla Roadster range with golf cart lead acid batteries...

I would guess the Cd to be around 0.18, given the curb weight and Wh/mile figures he has given, assuming stock frontal area. It is very well shaped.

He should build and sell body kits for the Metro; a lot of people here would gladly buy one, not necessarily for EVs, but because the prospect of an 80 mpg Geo Metro, without need for hypermiling techniques to achieve that figure, is also enticing. Some gearing adjustments could go with it for some ridiculous top speed(can you say 130 mph on a stock Metro engine?), for those willing to add in a taller ratio...

I agree that he should develop a chassis kit -- I would buy one in a flash!

We have a thread on his awesome car already, btw:

The *Ultimate* Aerodynamic Car? Dave Cloud's "Dolphin"

And with one or two tweaks (like smooth front wheel covers, and more wheel strakes), I would guesstimate the Cd to be 0.15 or less. What do you think, Phil?
