If you have no windows how are you going to vent the portable unit?

Well, I have a window unit and used carrage bolts that have flat smooth heads on the outside and made a sandwich of 2x4s inside and out to secure the unit and make it difficult to steal or break in. Its a 5000 watt unit and uses 300 watts.

If I had a garage attached or detached and it wasnt climate controlled Id see about adding a window unit even if i had to put it into the door.

I can easily put a 4 inch hole through the wall and add another clothes dryer duct to reject heat out side the structure.

Kidding. We've had a harsher than normal winter as well, with multiple snow/ice storms. Some years we get none.

If I had a garage it would be more of a man cave and when needed I would move stuff out of the way to pull a car in to work on it.

Either way it would have a window unit or some type of ac.

Yeah I had to seal the garage door for security reasons here. All I know is the next punk that tries their little trick to pop it open is going to get a nice suprize.
The next place we are going to move to, sealing the garage doors semi perminanty like i did here isnt an option.
