T-100 says! Adios ! to diffuser

On the way here I took a regular shortcut down an alley which saves me 3-traffic lights.
We've had a lot of rain,and a real gully-washer this A.M..
I got into high water, deeper than I could gauge. Then there was a delicious Hollywood special effects sound of the Titanic striking the ice-berg and in the side-view mirror I could see as the diffuser, formally a part of the truck, now embarking on her own independent journey, bobbing happily in the deluge.
I stopped, removed shoes and socks, rolled up my pantlegs, and waded through foot-deep California liquid-sunshine to retrieve the wayward mod.
She was no match for 4-mph hydrodynamics.%^&$#@)(*^&?<+_<%!

Sounds like the water was getting up underneath it and pulling it down. When you re-install it, make sure you make a good seal all around it so there's no parachuting.

Failures are needed, so that we can learn from them.

Bummer, Phil!

How many years of trouble-free service did you get out of it?

I can't even imagine the noises accurately, nor the words that may have been spoken on exit of the vehicle...

Of course, you'll just design a better one for next time, I trust?

You have a side view mirror?!?

The tail of a boat won't help much when you need the whole thing!

The last pictures I saw, your truck was looking really cool! Were you deep enough to dip that Studebaker nose cone underwater? Did you have a belly pan? How did that fare?

When it rains it pours...

Sorry

Yeah. Winter is tough on ecomodders. My air dam is rolled up in the garage. Winter driving - oriented to not sliding about too much - also takes its toll.

Hopefully repairs don't stop more improvement.

Or at least as normal as Phil's truck can be...

Normal is considered to be what he would expect it to be...

I actually like the thing the way it is (was?). I see no reason that new trucks have to have blunt noses, rounded backsides at the cabs, forward pointing grilles, etc.
