School drop off always does that to me too. This is my DD and it has to serve. That's part of why I reduced my FE goal from 60 to 55mpg. In winter, doing the school thing... it was just no fun to try and hit 60mpg in those conditions.

Wow! Do you have average speed info? My UG can't give me ave speed accurately because my injector kill seems to mess up the calc really badly.

I did at one time have an hour meter in the car to calculate average speed. It was in the low to mid 30s the few times I checked it. I currently have no instrumentation related to fuel econonmy, unless you count the fuel gauge and odometer! I mostly drive on rural 2-lane highways at ~45 MPH. Maybe 50 MPH if I'm in a hurry!

Scangauge gives an average speed, but it includes time stopped at red lights, so it's not really accurate either. And it goes crazy after about a month / 700 miles, saying my average is something like 118 mph!

Great work Gasoline Fumes! I'm going to eventually have time to do some aeromods to my car and when I do I'm going to use your car as a bit of a guide.

I also hit a new record, 43.47 on my last tank. Hope I can keep growing that number.

Warmer weather is here! I just had my best tank ever. 727 miles, 74.4 mpg.

I expect most people's numbers will go up with the temperatures. That includes the competition, so stay on your game.

Great job.

Not sure if anyone cares or if it's already common knowledge... I work at Lowe's and I found out that the green coroplast sale signs they use im the outside garden area, fit 14" rims perfectly. They usually have extras, because they receive more than they have room for and they throw them all in the trash compactor when the sale ends. So I'm sure you could very easily get them for free if you ask. If they don't have extras they might save them for you to pick up when the sale is over.

I'm still deciding how I want to mount them, but here is a pic:

Edit: Wow... I just realized how old that post was that I quoted. Eh oh well, maybe someone will find this useful.
