Thanks eccomoder

Just a post thanking all the people putting info on here! Not all mods are for me but I have spent many hours reading here, something I don’t do enough of. The scan gauge is so informative. I have changed my 26 lb wheels to a 12 lb version and 26 lb tires to a 21 lb. Tires are 1.5 “ larger od reducing rpms and the lighter weight makes the car so much more responsive. All positive additions that I learnt about here and made driving so much more enjoyable.

The difference with reducing rotating mass sure is noticeable isn't it? I know there was an OEM forged 18" wheel option for G35/G37(?) at some point, did you go for that?

Your mercedes entry and the weight reduction discussion reminds me of my dad's E550 brake rotors. Each rotor weighs more than my entire wheel and tire assembly, 40ish pounds vs 36 pounds. That car is pretty quick as is, I could only imagine what it would be like without such heavy brakes and wheels.

My wheels are 17” centrelines vs stock 18” and on my wife’s Glk are 20” wheels which she loved but weigh over 30 lbs. I use 17’s on the Glk in winter.

Wheel and unsprung weight reductions are about the best ones you can do. I'm thrilled when someone is able to see the benefits :)

Never thought about tire weight much before but the Goodyear Assurance I bought 215/60/17 and 215/65/17 are 21 lbs vs some weigh 30 lbs.

Glad people drop in for a note like this sometimes. Any other mods under consideration? Or hyper mile technique?

Actually l have thought about a rear wing like you see on the salt flat cars and maybe removing my spare tire replacing with fix a flat and pump seeing I just got new tires. I still try perfecting driving technique , or try something new thanks to the scan gauge.
