ATaylorRAcing -

If this brings back NUMMI, I will sing their praises (and cross my fingers) :

Quote:
The revival of NUMMI, for 25 years a joint venture between Toyota and the former General Motors Corp., will create 1,000 jobs, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said. The plant [Fremont, California] closed in April.

They're bringing NUMMI back to life without GM. Lets hope they have the brass balls to keep the UAW leaches out.

Daimler owns 10% of Tesla already. Rumor has it that Toyota will be also using the plant to build a "city" sized EV -- maybe an iQ EV? That would be cool...

More updates. Seriously, no responses?

...Toyota also aims to test an electric Corolla compact car, the RAV4 and RX light trucks are better suited to the weight of Tesla’s battery pack...

...The target for a model developed with Tesla would be for a car that costs about $40,000 with 150 miles (240 kilometers) of driving range per charge...
