HAHA I forgot about that thread. I got so busy and was so satisfied with the tires, that I forgot to post back about them.

They worked great! The truck rode steered like it was on rails. VERY good handling and tracking. I put more weight on those tires than most people would dream of. I was not sure if they would take it, but they passed with flying colors. They carried 5,000 lbs each and they did it over and over again. Summer traction was good, but winter time was a real headache. They would spin on snow and ice like it was greased glass. I ended up using my tire chains a lot more than i wanted to. They did get good gas mileage. I wore them down to the carcass in about a year and then got some coopers.

The coopers are lead bricks compared to the trailer tires, but they are great off road. They also seem to carry the weight a little better. The side walls are about an inch thick and the tires will hold the truck with no air in them. Very stiff ride, but it smooths out nicely with a load. They have great traction in winter and I hardly ever need to use my chains.

I was just looking for input. Asking for opinions does not mean you are going to do what people say you should. Sometimes you need to hear things from different angles to make up your mind or finalize an idea.

I've seen that a lot with ex-wives, girlfriends, and friends in general: I'd like to collect other people's opinions about something I was thinking of doing, and often, go ahead and do it regardless of what they'd say. And I heard more than once, "So why do you bother to ask me if you're gonna go ahead and ignore me & do it anyway?"

So I guess the "lesson" is; if you ask someone their opinion and then don't follow it, you run the risk insulting them. Of course that still doesn't stop me! LOL!!!
