Turbogauge

Hi,

Apologies if this has been posted before. Is this Turbogauge the same as a Scangauge 2 ? It looks the same in terms of the case style, the logo, and what it seems to do.

TurboGauge | mavericktechnology.co.uk

Although I have instant MPG and average (VW stylee) from reading some TDI posts here it would be good to monitor various temps.

Cheers

Man, the LCD *looks* almost identical, but with more features. It also has one extra button in the lower left corner.

What I meant was is it Made in China for a big, international company, or is it made by a Chinese company trying to look like the ScanGauge?

I'd write to Linear-Logic and ask if it's their new product. Say you found it locally and that it looks just like their ScanGauge, and if it is as good. Maybe Roadi is their sub-company. Maybe it's a company trying to catch the ScanGauge wave. Once they know about each other, let them fight it out

I just sent Linear-Logic an e-mail. I'll post what they say.

Here's the response :

The Turbogauge is not one of our products. We purchased one and after examining it we found it seems to be virtually identical to the Maxitrip hardware. The Maxitrip itself was a poor attempted knock off of the ScanGauge, so the Turboguage is essentially a knock off of a knock off.
We have a thread on the Maxitrip that pretty much says the same :

Maxitrip for $100

It definitely has issues :

It hasn't stopped raining for it feels like a month

Knock off of a Knock off - the 'copiers' are feeding off each other now ?

I think maybe I'll ask the Maverick people how it compares to the SG2 and Maxitrip and see how they respond.

I'd like to invest in an SG2 but with the Ł vs $ and Euro vs $ being so bad I'm not sure I can afford one just now.

OK - in the reply the claim is that the TG has more features than the SG2 or m-trip

Quote:
TBG III has more functions that Scanguage 2 and Maxitrip. Please see http://www.mavericktechnology.co.uk/...on%20sheet.pdf
Anyone with an SG2 want to see if this is the case ? I'll keep an eye out and see if anyone on any boards gets one and gives feedback. I would risk getting one and feedback results (I can send it back if it locks up) but I have a possible turbo issue (mucho smoke) to sort out first so no spare dosh until I know thats sorted.
