Twenty years late

I finally got a Metro- 1.0 5sp. Well, I am the opposite of an "early adopter", waiting for obsolescence to set in so I can make my move on the cheap. Actually this one has been in the family and I inherited it. Poor thing got run over by a U-Haul truck, and has always been a Rust Belt car so the rockers and door bottoms are gone but at least the front subframe still looks OK, and everything works.

Now I will pay more attention to the Metro threads!

That's a proper car that, red and two doored and all!

I know! It's got everything a man could ever want.

Will this one be in the garage like your others? A handful of entries and then nothing else ever again?

Frank Lee 12-16-2016 05:54 PM

I should add it. Everything in the garage except the F150 has been parked since the entries stopped. F150 has just had gaslogs on paper for quite some time.

It looks like some ad hoc weight reduction has been taking place on your new Metro. Tinworm's taken a few bites out of it.

I'd shop for one but around here they salt the roads at the mere mention of snow, and there aren't many left at all. What few come up don't look worth dickering for.

Frank Lee 12-16-2016 11:36 PM

Yes, the weight reduction scheme is already in progress. And it also has turbulators at the door bottoms, rockers, and right front fender for enhanced aerodynamics! I probably don't have to do any mods at all except for a 2:1 final drive- you know, so it can top out at 405 mph and 100 mpg.

Has it got the Eco light on the dashboard?

It looks like it could use some reinforcement in the rockers, so I'm going to quote your previous post right back at you.

I chose that picture of the three because I took it. The title has changed though, probably Photobucket.
