Do you have the "Electromatic Transmission" mentioned in the aforementioned link? I've always wondered if a cvt on an electric car might not make it more efficient, and/or faster.

I don't think so, it would make it so that in 1977 you didn't need a solid state speed controller, most people who leave there manual transmissions on their EV's leave it in one gear nearly all the time, altho it does help you draw fewer amps to have it in a lower gear and will help with your top speed, but an automatic is not going to give you any advantage because they are not efficient enough.

I have the plans for this vehicle. I bought them back in the early 1980's, did some pricing of parts and looked into licensing and insurance requirements, but never built the vehicle.
