What is a solar battery? and how do we conserve sun energy?

I believe that a solar battery is a labyrinth of mirrors used to trap the sun it stays trapped there till the sun has traveled several light years or the door is closed or it gets dark otherwise it works great.

...I would definitely like to see integral, contoured, roof-mounted solarcells become standard--purpose, to: (1) run internal fans to circulate cabin air on hot days, (2) float-charge of main battery if necessary, (3) used to power electrically-controlled contrast thin-film materials on cabin windows to block OUT heat, etc..
