no salt down here, but like you said if you seal it with good paint it probably will not be the first thing to rust out. The fender lips make great hangers ,you can make the cuts different depths to accomidate different thickness materials, and they bend back into place if you want to remove the skirts, as long as you dont go past the horizontal edge,im keeping this car until it falls apart so no concern for making my mods reversable. cfg where do you get all your info? your like a ecomodder encyclopidia!

moonmonkey -

You're the moonmonkey, I'm a searchmonkey. Whenever I can, I like to cross-post stuff I remember from other threads because it makes old/new threads all the richer. Synergy and all that.

Cross linking of threads helps out alot at times, because it keeps information current in the newer threads, and creates enough of an adundance of the same piece of information that noone should have trouble finding it in a search.

I would love to see a thread of ECHO ecomods. I love my Echo, and the weather in OK is now making a turn for the better. This is good stuff, it would be great to assemble it all in one place. Thanks for all the good work guys, and thanks for sharing your hard learned lessons with all of us.

Hey I can see you guys know quite a bit about echo's. I have been reading this forum for a while but never posted anything. I was wondering if any of you have done a muffler delete? If so, better MPG? Had mine unbolted the other day and could actually hear the engine runnning for once. Without a tach. sometimes I can't tell if the engine is still running or not.
Also, have any of you done any intake mods?
I have a scan gauge and I am a mechanical engineer at Arizona State University. Currently averaging 50.2 mpg over the last year with my 2002 toyota echo (manual).
