vBulletin add-on

I spend time over at ppcgeeks.com which uses vBulletin Version 3.6.8

They have this system of thanking people in posts, you can build a reputation for being helpful. I like the idea when hacking my phone of somebody with a good rep says "try this" it usually works out well.

Just an idea but maybe that might work well here with all of the advice flying around?

Rep systems can be a bad thing also. Some of the members on my old gaming site were re-registering with other usernames and giving rep to themselves.

maybe its better to leave it alone seems to be working OK the way it is. Might even do more warm than help.

after posting over here:

I think the signature and somebody's fuel log makes for a pretty good rep

Word of mouth works very well here. A Rep system may help some Newbs figure out where/Who to look for right away, but usually an introduction post gives enough info for us to guide someone in the right direction.

On a side note: I do believe the maturity level of posters here is of the correct caliber to utilize the Rep system properly. It could be something implemented for future use, perhaps.

^This is by-far one of the most mature, non-name calling, non-efighting, forums that I've been to. I don't think I have seen anyone here instruct a new member to search for information on which there are tons of threads made every month. There is absolutely no bashing either. But when I was new here, I found out who is who pretty quickly. It's easy to tell with the numbers in FE they are putting out and their join date/post count.
