Very interesting video on LRR tire technology, LRR vs. grip
Its been said that LRR tires don't have good grip. While that used to mostly be the case, modern technology using silica has completely changed the behavior of tires for rolling resistance and grip resulting in less compromise. It all has to do with the frequency of deformation. Here is a video that explains it.

25% of the LRR of a steel wheel on a rail is pretty cool. Love this guy's explanations. Thx. (Love my Michelin Defenders too.)
