Volta's (anyone riding one yet?)

I've been drooling over these for a while, and I'd like to get one, but of course, no money.

Volta | Step Thru Electric Motorcycles

So is anyone here riding one of these things yet? I'd like to hear how they perform in the real world.

looking at their catalog is interesting, they have different sized motors available for faster acceleration and top speed, but for a given speed (45mph) the range is pretty much identical.

Of course more current means more losses, so the larger motor would see less range if the extra capacity is being used, and it would get used since it is there, but they *could* all be driven identically and have the same range.

I don't know much about torque, so sorry for the stupid question but: the highest engine said 205 ft-lbs, does that mean I cant drive one? I'm 240lbs. Can I drive the one that's 133 ft-lbs?

Yes, you can ride either.

For comparison, your Neon doesn't even put out 205 ft-lbs of torque, until you add in the gear multiplier.

Anybody else thinking like me, that the quoted range is a little, conservative? They're basically claiming 106Wh/mile at 40-45mph on flat ground.

Who wants to bet this bike has some serious potential when hypermiled?
