warm weather numbers today.

We were pulling insanely good numbers in our F 150 4x4 with aerolid this morning. We were traveling on Hwy 185 going to town which is 20 mile trip at 55 mph for 12 miles then 40 mph for 7 miles. At 55 mph we were seeing 29.4 mpg then at 40 mph we were seeing 35 mpg. I made every light in town and pulled into the Walmart parking lot with a final 31 mpg. After going to the bread store we headed home on the same road going north. Our house in Radium Springs is 100 ft higher then Las Cruces, NM. We pulled a solid 31 mpg on the return trip at 40 mph and 26.6 mpg at 55 mph. My averages going both directions was 33 mpg at 40 mph and 28 mpg at 55 mph. The winds were light and temps were in the mid to high 70 ' s F. Not bad numbers for a 5,800 lb 4x4 truck. I don't like doing 40 mph because the truck is still in 5th gear and only shifts into 6th gear on the way to 45 mph. I can get the same mpg at either speed for this reason.
