Water Meter for water savings!!!

I just heard back from my contact at Badger Meter - maker of water and other liquid-measuring meters - that they would be happy to donate a water meter to Daox and I for a water conservation project!

With the idea that measuring something changes how we use it, we will add the water meter to a house with a well, so that the water users can easily see how much water they are using!

Once the users know how much water is being used, it's much easier to figure out how to reduce that consumption!

I'd like to get one for my upstairs washroom. I did some measuring and found that if i re-routed the pipes better i could save 18 feet of hot water line! In the morning, i ONLY use hte hot tap... i turn it on and leave it on while i brush, then the hot water finally arrives when i wash my face. So every time i want hot water from that pipe, i'm wasting 18ftx5/8dia of water AND enough gas to heat that much water and 18 feet of copper pipe.
