I don't quite understand how welding the block to the frame is gonna drop RPM's. It'll take out some of the give on launch, granted... But you could also just let it slip a bit more too. Either way, once the block / chassis has twisted, 1500 RPM is gonna get you exactly as far as 1500 RPM is gonna get you..

How does welding anything change your RPM? I think you would do better changing your tires to economy tires.
