also perhaps this shape is not very favorable when the airflow is off center.
no road is perfectly straight and cars manouvre all the time, so a great portion of your driving the airflow will be comming at the vehicle from a slight angle

air doesn't like "wedges"
I'm planning on a 35" raidus half sphere instead if the wedge and relocating the radiator in a 2' extention at the rear.

THX 4 the info guys.

Sorry I didn't spell it out earlier: The more front overhang sticking out there, and the lower it is, the way more likely it is to get scraped off in the real world of driveway approaches, curbs, and whatnot.

Also, there is no aerodynamic need and/or benefit for it to stick out that far anyway so it has more con than pro.

Hi Frank,

I think that the wedge forced the stagnant point as low as possible, which may help keep much of the air out from under the car, and direct as much of it as possibly up and over the car? But, I think it would also do this if it only stuck out 1/2 as far, and then it would not be as likely to scrap the ground.

WHAT I'm trying to say is a FLAT one will work, yes, vertical and FLAT if it has decent radii sides and top.
